Austin graduated from Humboldt State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Geography. He then attended the University of Wyoming College of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate and an M.A. in Environment and Natural Resources. Austin was born and raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and returned home to practice law after spending seven years living in California and teaching English in Guizhou, China. 

During law school Austin interned at the United States Department of the Interior Solicitor’s Office, received the University of Wyoming Ellbogen Scholarship to participate in international human rights defense in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and clerked with a civil firm in Wyoming. Austin is licensed to practice in the state of Wyoming and his practice areas include natural resources and environmental law, general civil litigation, domestic and criminal defense.

Austin was a Division II All-American cross country runner in college. In his free time, Austin can be found running the nearby trails at Vedauwoo and Curt Gowdy, camping, hunting, and enjoying all that Wyoming has to offer.
